Perfect for volunteers who want to help when their schedule allows.
Social Media Ambassador - Share Literacy DuPage posts, events, and success stories on your personal social media channels to help us reach more learners, tutors, and supporters.
Deliver Outreach Materials - Help distribute flyers and brochures to libraries, community centers, businesses, and other locations throughout DuPage County.
Build Prospect Lists – Assist with online research to identify potential sponsors, community partners, volunteers, or outreach opportunities.
Office Volunteer - Help with mailings, filing, assembling materials, and other office tasks as needed.
Assist with Special Projects – Use your professional skills to support occasional projects in areas such as IT, HR, graphic design, photography, videography, legal, data analysis, administrative support, or other specialized expertise.

The Marketing & Social Media Volunteer Group focuses on promoting the organization through compelling storytelling and consistent messaging. This team develops and oversees content for social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels to highlight success stories, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events.

The Fundraising & Event Planning Volunteer Group leads efforts to secure financial support through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and special events. This team helps brainstorm, organize, and execute fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals and values. Members may assist with donor outreach, securing in-kind donations, event logistics, and post-event follow-up to cultivate lasting relationships with supporters.

The Program Volunteer Group supports the Program Manager by assisting with daily tasks and initiatives aligned with the Board-approved strategic plan. They help explore opportunities for innovation and improved program outcomes, while also planning activities that foster a sense of community among tutor volunteers. Additionally, they contribute to expanding networks, developing resources, and exploring potential program partnerships.
Ongoing Opportunities
Conversation Group Facilitator
Lead a small group of adult English learners in a relaxed, supportive conversation setting. Facilitators help learners build confidence speaking English while connecting with others in the community.
You can lead a group by yourself, pair up with some and alternate sessions, or become a substitute that fills in when others are unavailable. Depending on location, some groups meet weekly, some meet bi-weekly.
Typical commitment: 1–2 hours per week or every other week.
Tutor Adult Learners
One-to-one tutors work with an adult learner to improve English language skills. No teaching or foreign language experience is required, Literacy DuPage provides training and ongoing support.
Typical commitment: 2-5 hours per week.
