Seven public libraries (Carol Stream, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Indian Prairie, Naperville, Westmont, and Wheaton) are offering a series called Neighbors Together to shine the spotlight on Literacy DuPage.

Enjoy book discussions, drop-in events, information sessions, and a cooking program. Members of all libraries are welcome to attend any of the events or book discussions listed below. Please note the individual libraries’ registration policies.

Literacy DuPage Lobby Drop-ins

Representatives from Literacy DuPage discuss volunteer opportunities to teach people to read and speak English. Drop by to get some quick information. 

  • Indian Prairie Public Library: Tuesday, Sept. 2, 3–6 p.m.

  • Glen Ellyn Public Library: Saturday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m.–noon

  • Carol Stream Public Library: Monday, Sept. 15, 6–8 p.m.

  • Wheaton Public Library: Wednesday, Sept. 17, 5–7 p.m.

Information Sessions

Interested in volunteering to teach people to read and speak English? Learn about the commitments and rewards of becoming a volunteer tutor. Attend this program to get a more comprehensive look at volunteering.
